Tip of the Week - March 19, 2008

Pruning Hybrid Tea Roses. . .

If you haven't done so already, Hybrid Tea Roses need to be pruned in the early Spring before new growth begins. Cut to the ground any dead rose canes and cutback to approximately 14-16 inches remaining canes. Be sure to shape the bush as you trim it. It's a good time to start your fertilization program for the season. We recommend a formulation such as, Espoma Rose-Tone (6-6-4). This exceptional rose food helps promote abundant blooms.
